"We're launching this review because no parent should ever have to worry about losing their child to violence... if there is a way we can do even more to make children, schools and communities safer, and help young people make good choices, we have a continued responsibility to do everything we can."
- Dalton McGuinty

On June 11, 2007, Premier Dalton McGuinty announced that he had appointed former Chief Justice and Attorney General Roy McMurtry and former Speaker of the Legislature Alvin Curling to conduct a review of the Roots of Youth Violence.

The "Review of the Roots of Youth Violence" report was released to the public on Friday, November 14, 2008. The report consists of five English and three French volumes (because of their technical nature, two volumes of research papers were not translated.) Printed copies of the report will be available for purchase through ServiceOntario Publications. Once the printed copies of the report are available, they may be ordered on line at www.serviceontario.ca/publications, or by calling the ServiceOntario Publications Contact Centre at 1-800-668-9938. The full report is available to view or download from this web site.
